In a brilliant joint venture a savvy restaurateur merged with a Silicon Valley executive and a chef to create what today is the "Restaurant of choice for Silicon Valley's elite makers. This very popular dining landmark was located on Ramona Street in Palo Alto for 25 years. In December 1999, construction was completed and the venerable Chantilly moved into spacious new quarters just North of Palo Alto on the border of Redwood City.

The new Chantilly picked up where the former Chantilly left off and continues to be the South Bay's place where Silicon Valley's deals are consummated, where Venture Capitalists launch IPOs and executive meet to brainstorm the next big thing.

Gus and Executive Chef Owner Bernardo Oropeza have created a restaurant that is sentimental and Romantic for couples and at the same time a perfect setting for those private CEO dinners that are so much a part of our valley.

Chantilly's new two-story building includes a spacious entry, mahogany bar, elegant dining room and a private wine room, and adjoining "cellar" housing a selection of our over 50,000 bottles of fine wine. Noted designer Paul Wyatt created an extremely comfortable wine room of gorgeous natural Redwood.

Upstairs there are 5 additional private dining areas. One series of three rooms contains state-of-the art multimedia presentation equipment and access to the Internet.

Across the hall there is a dining room that can set up to 35 guests, with a balcony overlooking the dining rooms below. There is also a private bar.

Downstairs, Chantilly is subdued elegance. The two- story dining room has brocade-covered walls. A marble fireplace graces one corner. The chandelier and sconces are imported from Italy. Tables are spaced far enough apart to create a quiet, intimate dining atmosphere.

The restaurant has a custom of presenting each woman who dines here with a long stem rose.
